This role is crucial for supporting and guiding our ongoing projects, ensuring they align with our strategic objectives and are executed flawlessly.

Role Summary:

The Lead Project Manager will be instrumental in overseeing a wide range of projects across the organization. This person must possess a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification and have a proven track record of successful project management in a similar industry. The role involves direct collaboration with various departments, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and budget, and meet or exceed quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Leadership: Lead cross-functional teams to deliver projects from inception to completion. This includes project planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.
  • Strategic Alignment: Ensure all projects are aligned with the company’s strategic goals and contribute to our mission of being a leader in the marine shipping and transportation industry.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, providing regular updates and ensuring all parties are aligned.
  • Continuous Improvement: Implement project management best practices and lessons learned to continually improve project outcomes.
  • Resource Management: Efficiently allocate resources, including personnel, budget, and materials, to maximize project success.

Project Scenarios:

  • Fleet Expansion Project: Overseeing the acquisition and integration of new vessels into the existing fleet, ensuring they meet environmental and safety standards, and align with the company’s growth strategy.
  • Digital Transformation Initiative: Leading a project to implement new software systems for operations management, aimed at increasing efficiency, reducing costs, and improving data analytics capabilities.
  • Sustainability Program: Managing a company-wide initiative to reduce carbon emissions and improve environmental sustainability, including the adoption of cleaner fuels and energy-efficient technologies.
  • Operational Excellence Drive: Leading a series of projects aimed at optimizing operational processes, improving supply chain efficiency, and enhancing customer satisfaction.
  • Crisis Response Plan: Developing and implementing a comprehensive crisis management plan to address potential disruptions, including environmental disasters, geopolitical tensions, or significant market changes.

Qualifications:

  • PMP certification is required.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) strongly preferred
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of project management experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within the marine shipping and transportation industry or a related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams and manage projects across various departments.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with a talent for negotiating and resolving conflicts.
  • Proficient in project management software and tools.
