Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable Manager

Our client is Private Equity Backed, Industrial Manfuacturing/Distribution company seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable Manager to join their accounting team. As a crucial member of their organization, you will be responsible for managing both the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions to ensure efficient and accurate financial operations.

This is a highly visible position reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer and Private Equity Board.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounts Payable Management:

• Oversee the entire accounts payable process including invoice processing, payment scheduling, and vendor communication.
• Ensure timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices and payments while adhering to company policies and procedures.
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Manage vendor relationships and negotiate favorable payment terms when applicable.

Accounts Receivable Management:

• Supervise the accounts receivable process including invoicing, collections, and cash application.
• Monitor customer accounts to ensure timely payment and follow up on overdue accounts.
• Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to resolve billing discrepancies and disputes.
• Perform regular credit reviews and establish credit limits for new and existing customers.

Financial Reporting and Analysis:

• Prepare monthly AP/AR aging reports and provide analysis to management on outstanding balances and cash flow projections.
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and variance analysis as needed.
• Ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulatory requirements.

System Management and ERP Implementation:

• Manage and maintain accounting software systems including Quickbooks, Sage 50, and Sage 100.
• Lead the implementation of new ERP systems, ensuring smooth transition and data integrity.
• Provide training and support to finance team members on the use of accounting software and ERP systems.

Process Improvement:

• Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation to streamline AP/AR operations.
• Develop and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial processes.
• Participate in cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable roles, preferably in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
• Proficiency in accounting software systems such as Quickbooks, Sage 50, and Sage 100.
• Experience with ERP implementations and system integrations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels.
• Proven leadership abilities with the capacity to manage and develop a team.
• CPA or relevant professional certification is a plus.
