Art League of Henderson County is Hiring a Bookkeeper Near Hendersonville, NC

Job Description: The Art League is seeking a dynamic and organized individual to join our team as a Part-Bookkeeper for our non-profit arts organization. This individual will play a pivotal role in managing our financial transactions and ensuring the smooth operation of our day-to-day activities. Responsibilities include:

  • Managing workshop registrations, gallery sales, artist studio rentals, event registration fees, membership renewals, donations, grant tracking, and organizational bill payments.
  • Maintaining accurate records of financial transactions using QuickBooks Online.
  • Reconciling bank statements and financial data regularly.
  • Assisting with budget preparation and financial reporting.
  • Collaborating with the administrative team to streamline financial processes and improve efficiency.
  • Providing support during audits and financial reviews.
  • Upholding compliance with relevant financial regulations and standards.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proficiency with QuickBooks Online: Demonstrated experience in utilizing QuickBooks Online for bookkeeping and financial management.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to maintain accurate records and identify discrepancies in financial data.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational abilities to manage multiple tasks efficiently and meet deadlines.
  • Communication Skills: Effective written and verbal communication skills for collaborating with team members and external stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze financial issues and propose solutions to improve processes.
  • Adaptability: Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Knowledge of Nonprofit Accounting: Familiarity with nonprofit accounting principles and practices is preferred.

About The Art League: The Art League is a vibrant non-profit visual arts organization located north of downtown Hendersonville. We boast a fine art gallery hosting exhibitions, diverse workshops, and a clay/pottery studio offering classes and open studio days. With over 400 member artists and patrons, we are committed to fostering creativity and cultural enrichment in our community through various events and programs, including public art exhibits, the Downtown Hendersonville ArtScape Banner Program, and the county-wide Fall for Art Open Studio Tour. Position Details:

  • Part-Time, Contract Position: Initially offering an average of 10 hours per week, with flexible scheduling options.
  • Potential for Full-Time, Permanent Position: Opportunity for advancement to a full-time, permanent role based on performance and organizational needs.
  • Location: This is an on-site position, not virtual, with private parking available.
  • Hourly Rate: Competitive hourly rate based on experience and qualifications.
