Job Description:
As a Registered Nurse (RN) within our Med Surg Tele Patient Care Unit, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals requiring medical-surgical and telemetry services. Your responsibilities will encompass assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care while adhering to established protocols and standards of practice.

Key Responsibilities:

• Patient Assessment and Monitoring: Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' health status, including physical, emotional, and psychosocial aspects. Utilize telemetry monitoring systems to track cardiac rhythms and respond promptly to any abnormalities.
• Care Planning and Implementation: Develop individualized care plans based on patients' needs, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure holistic care delivery. Administer medications, perform treatments, and provide wound care according to physician orders and nursing protocols.
• Patient Education and Support: Educate patients and their families on disease processes, treatment plans, and self-care techniques to promote optimal recovery and wellness. Offer emotional support and advocate for patients' rights and preferences throughout their healthcare journey.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in electronic health records (EHR) systems. Communicate effectively with healthcare team members, providing timely updates and reports on patients' progress and any changes in their condition.
• Quality Improvement and Compliance: Participate in quality improvement initiatives and compliance activities, adhering to regulatory standards and best practices in nursing care. Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance clinical skills and stay abreast of advancements in medical-surgical and telemetry nursing.

Qualifications:

• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of New York.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in a medical-surgical and/or telemetry nursing setting.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; additional certifications such as PALS and TNCC preferred.
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with a commitment to teamwork and collaboration.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Flexibility to work night shifts (19:00 - 07:30) as scheduled, including weekends and holidays.
