ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

Qualified individuals must have the ability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to perform the following duties :

• Always follow all safety guidelines in order to eliminate accidental injury.
• Maintain property, plant, and equipment to support and improve the safe production and performance of operations.
• Participate in Continuous Improvement and provide suggestions to improve processes and participate in team projects.
• Follow all Lock Out / Tag Out procedures.
• Assure that timely checks are made and recorded accurately.
• Make necessary adjustments as promptly and efficiently as possible.
• Look for ways to improve efficiency, quality, and reduce downtime.
• M.s and daily checks are to be done and turned in on time.
• Work any necessary overtime to assure the machine is ready to run effectively within specifications during production hours.
• Run the highest quality possible on the Hasko.
• Use the proper tools for each job to increase downtime efficiency.
• Be aware of performance and condition of all saw blades.
• Use foresight and notes in troubleshooting to head off problems before they arise.
• Keep belts, rollers, etc. on hand to minimize downtime.
• Report to supervisor any parts, saw blades, etc. that need to be replaced.
• Keep saw log current, accurate, and legible.
• If checks are completed and no adjustments are necessary, operators are to assist the rest of the team, especially during staffing shortages.
• Assure that necessary replacement parts are stocked in house.
• Ensure all wastewater and hazardous waste are disposed of properly.
• Communicate effectively with operators on the other shifts daily.
• Possess the necessary freedom to leave the work area to get an OST, supervisor, QC, or to get needed items from the supply room.

Inform lead person first.

Perform any other tasks as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES :

• The ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• The ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• The ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with few concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Able to follow established policies and procedures.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Able to demonstrate practical problem-solving skills.
• Able to work independently as well as in a team environment on assigned projects / tasks and report to supervision the status of each as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS :

• Must be able to successfully complete and pass a background check, employment verification and drug screening.
• Positive and Verifiable Work History.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Walking, standing, stretching, bending, stooping, twisting, reaching, grasping and repetitive movements.
• Frequently climb flights of steps (catwalk).

• Must be able to work in a non-temperature-controlled environment.
• Work near moving mechanical parts.
• Must be able to work in moderate noise, up to 83 decibels.
