Job Summary
Operators load open top trucks and trailers, feed hoppers of processing equipment, manage storage piles around the plant, and assist in providing materials to the shredding process.
Equipment includes scrap handling articulated cranes, front-end loaders, manlifts, skid steer, Bobcats, and forklifts to prepare for transport of scrap materials.
Inventory must be maintained according to standard operating procedures established by plant management. Must safely handle materials using powered mobile equipment as directed by plant management in accordance with established company policy.
Must perform Pre-operational checks on the equipment assigned to them to operate. Pre-op Checklists and other operational reports are necessary for the operator to complete daily.
Discrepancies must be reported immediately to management.
Occasional assistance to maintenance techs may be required during maintenance periods such as carrying materials for fabrication or spare parts to the job site.
