Job Summary:
The Assistant Controller at Arlo Chicago is responsible for managing the accounting and finance functions for our hotel in Chicago, Illinois. This is a full-time, management position in the hotel/hospitality industry. The Assistant Controller will work closely with the Director of Finance and the management team to ensure the financial success of the hotel.
Compensation & Benefits:
We offer a competitive salary of $67,000 per year, paid biweekly. In addition, we offer a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, and opportunities for career growth and development.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee the day-to-day accounting and finance operations of the hotel, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and cash management
- Prepare and review financial statements and reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and procedures
- Collaborate with the Controller to develop and maintain budget plans and financial forecasts
- Oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes and ensure timely completion of all required tasks
- Conduct regular audits and internal controls to ensure financial data accuracy and identify any discrepancies or non-compliance issues
- Train and develop accounting staff, providing guidance and support as needed
- Review and approve vendor invoices and monitor expenses to ensure they align with budget guidelines
- Prepare and submit tax returns and other financial filings as required by law
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by the Controller or senior management team
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in an accounting or finance role, preferably in the hospitality industry
- Prior management or supervisory experience is preferred
- CPA designation is a plus
- Extensive knowledge of accounting principles and financial statements
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy while working in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.

Must have previous Hotel experience .
