Position Summary:
The Recruiting and On-boarding Specialist serves as the day-to-day point person for recruiting, hiring, and on-boarding full-time employees for Arkansas State University. This role provides excellent internal and external customer service by collaborating with hiring managers and responding to queries about requisitions, onboarding, and employment at A-State. This position is a viable team member within the Human Resource Department and supports the Campus Community and HR team.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Knowledge of the principles and practices of human resources, state and federal personnel laws, policies, and procedures.
Ability to handle confidential information in an appropriate, professional and respectful manner.
Ability to analyze information from the candidate record and determine if candidates meets minimum qualifications.
Ability to act independently.
Knowledge of fair credit reporting laws.
Ability to work with others in a positive and collegial environment.
Ability to effectively communicate in both oral and written formats.
Ability to provide exceptional customer service.
General Days/Hours:
Monday - Friday
8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Additional hours as requested and/or needed

Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Management, Human Resource, Public Administration or related field and two years of experience working in human resources.
Minimum Qualifications:
The formal educational equivalent of an earned Bachelor's Degree in human resources, public administration, or a related field.
Other job-related education and or work experience may be substituted.
