• Synthesize and characterize novel phospholipid-derived prodrug conjugates.
• Prepare and characterize the nanoformulations (e.g., liposome and polymeric nanoparticles)
• Perform in vitro cell-based testing (cytotoxicity, cellular uptake, etc.)
• Conduct in vivo pharmacokinetics and biodistribution, as well as antitumor efficacy and mechanistic action studies.
• Provide technical resources/support and problem solving for graduate students and undergraduate researchers.
• Work on collecting data and analyzing research results. Identifies and recommends solutions to identifiable problems.
• Utilize specialized knowledge to assist with writing and evaluating manuscripts and grant proposals.
• Use excellent communication skills to ensure thorough understanding of the needs then engage in independent research in carrying out experiments with minimal supervision.
• Provide written, verbal, and graphical presentations of research results in in group meetings, institutional seminars, and conferences.
• Laboratory management, from biosafety, chemical safety, instrument operation to animal protocol approval and amendment.
• Mentor, train, and supervise graduate students and undergraduate researchers.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

• Ability to write manuscripts for publications.
