• Collect and complies research data; following a variety of experimental protocols. Tech will receive detailed instructions on all techniques. Maintains a careful research notebook; maintains lab protocols. Participates in data analysis, preparation of photoshop image summaries, prepares data presentations, and maintains well organized storage of data. Maintains lab equipment and provides basic instruction to others on how to use it.
• Orders lab supplies and maintains a lab inventory.
• Responsible for distributing work-load of maintaining insect colonies and transgenic lines; monitoring that
  these tasks are done correctly.
• Help with the supervision of undergraduate researchers - insure workflows/notebooks maintained appropriately,
  data stored as expected, and teach methods as needed. Establish and maintain an appropriate work ethic.
• Distribute the workload of keeping the lab clean and organize

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Familiarity with microscopy and microinjection a plus.
• Photoshop, Excel, Google applications a plus.
• Comfortable working with insects and working with specimens under a dissecting scope.
• Basic understanding of chemical solution preparation/dilutions etc.
• Familiarly with molecular cloning/PCR/CRISPR useful.
