Provide ongoing guidance and support under minimal guidance to a caseload of TRIO ASEMS Program participants through the TRIO SSS STEM grant to monitor project plans (including timelines and resources). Follow up on student issues that may lead to stopping out of the University or leaving STEM. Work with the ASEMS Assistant Director / TRIO ASEMS Director and appropriate staff to assess academic goals and needs and document progress in participants' files.
Complete record keeping required for the TRIO SSS STEM grant. This includes, but is not limited, to assisting with the compiling of academic data to support project evaluation/assessment and to maintain and update student records. Provide timely project updates to the ASEMS Assistant Director / TRIO ASEMS Director.
Plan, develop, lead, and assist with ASEMS program activiites to promote student retetention and build community related to the culture of ASEMS. Activities include workshops, seminars, and conferences, and other types of events to strengthen students' skills/knowledge related to research, career, and finances, in efforts to promote and retain students in STEM majors, leading to graduation.
Participate and assist with recruitment and outreach activities to inform eligible TRiO SSS ASEM students of the benefits and activities of the program.
