Arizona is Hiring a Laboratory Coordinator I (Extended Temporary) Near Tucson, AZ

  • Assists in the planning, design, set-up and disassembly of experiments. Follows detailed protocols for chemotaxis and biochemicalassays, optimizes PCR and other molecular biology techniques to constructplasmids and bacterial strains to fit specific experiments, performs bacterialinoculations of plants and completes disease progress ratings.
  • Revises and implements policies, procedures, andstandards to ensure the efficiency, effectiveness, and quality control of thelaboratory operation and compliance with federal, state, and universityregulations and standards.
  • Trains other researchers on equipment usage and answerquestions regarding the experiments and the equipment being used.
  • Manages the ordering, inventory, storage, andmaintenance of supplies, lab ware, and instruments essential to the operationof the lab or field research.
  • Cleaning and sterilizing of labware used for research, maintenance,and growth of bacterial cultures.
  • Record keeping, making observations, analyzing data, andinterpreting experimental results. Preparation of technical reports, summaries,protocols and quantitative results.
  • Has a good understanding of bacterial physiology.
  • Excellent note-taking skills, detail-oriented.
  • Ability to perform experiments and analyze experimental data independently.
  • Additional duties may be assigned.
