QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • One (1) year of clerical experience

  • Office Management Certification

  • May require a valid Driver’s license

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of and ability to follow college policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of and skill with utilizing current technologies and word processing, database, presentation, and spreadsheet software, specifically, Microsoft Office, Google, and Windows applications
  • Knowledge of the general proper operation of and the ability to use personal computers and standard office
equipment
  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, and to relate to others in a professional, helpful
manner
  • Ability to effectively interact and communicate with a diverse internal and external community

Work Environment:

Physical Demands:
  • Prolonged sitting and viewing of a computer screen

  • Driving, Carrying, Cleaning, Kneeling, Pulling, Pushing, Reaching, Sitting, Squatting, Stooping, Bending, Standing, and Walking

Travel:

  • May be required to travel to other locations using various modes of private, commercial, or fleet transportation

SUMMARY OF FUNCTION:
This position provides clerical/administrative support for a specific department and serves
as the point of contact. This position is the first level in the Administrative Assistant Family.
TYPICAL DUTIES:
Serves Students. Oversees the front desk/area by answering phones, and responding to inquiries in person, emails, and other forms of communication. Provides coverage for others while out of the office. Directs students to various locations on campus. Provides detailed information for students and employees. Assist with processing applications, proctoring exams, maintaining files, processing testing requests, processing evaluations, gathering statistical data, and assisting the Director, faculty, and staff with various other duties as assigned.
Calendar appointments for student testing. Sets up appointments for other staff in the department. Cancels and resets appointments.

Assists with ordering supplies for the office, nursing lab, and staff. Back up on processing requisitions and reviewing invoices.

Sorts mail and distributes mail daily.

Reserve rooms for testing, and meetings, assist with set up of events, and assist with planning.

Support and participate in strategic planning initiatives and performs other duties as
assigned.
