Arizona State University is Hiring a Program Manager Near Tempe, AZ

Job Description
The job posting is only open to current Arizona Board of Regents employees (Arizona State University, University of Arizona, or Northern Arizona University).
Performs work of considerable difficulty in coordinating and directing the activities and functions of the U.S. Government-funded projects such as the USAID Sponsored Higher Education Partnership Initiative (HEPI) in Indonesia, and the US-ASEAN Science, Technology, and Innovation Cooperation (STIC) project sponsored by the US Department of State.
The Program Manager will independently ensure that the goals and objectives of the HEPI and STIC projects are accomplished in accordance with priorities, time limitations, funding limitations or other specifications.
Working Environment
  • Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding, and manipulating a computer mouse; required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds
  • Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts.
  • Ability to clearly communicate to perform essential functions.
  • Availability for morning or evening meetings with global partners across a variety of time zones, often attended from home.
  • Some travel may be requested.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field AND five years administrative/coordination experience; OR, Master's degree in field appropriate to area of assignment AND three years administrative/coordination experience; OR Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

  • Experience in developing proposals for external funding of projects.
  • Experiene in planning, budgeting, implementing and evaluating projects.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of processes to conduct needs assessments.
  • Experience in designing training materials and presentations to meet needs assessed.
  • Experience in implementing training, session reviews, and follow-up procedures.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of processes for dissemination of results through presentations, reports, and publications.
  • Evidence of effective communication.
  • Experience in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships and establishing and facilitating remote work teams.

Essential Duties
  • Supervises the activities of subordinates in geographically distributed teams.
  • Supervises and facilitates the development of high impact training materials, training content, training delivery modes, or workshops, meetings and conferences with program participants
  • Oversees logistics, scheduling and target audience communications.
  • Oversees the evaluation of programs' effectiveness to develop and implement the goals and objectives of the program including: improved methods of program delivery; evaluation methodology design and implementation including analysis of results and takes or recommends proper action based on outcomes.
  • Develops and monitors daily operations and coordinates program activities.
  • Oversee the preparation of progress reports for the sponsor
  • Acts as the primary liaison with current funding sources.
  • Establishes expenditure controls and recommends the allocation of resources within the limitations of the budget.
  • Directs the recruitment of local participants within the region utilizing the most appropriate promotional and marketing methods.
