POSITION SUMMARY

The Benefits Coordinator is the administrator of AWP’s benefit plans, managing the day-to-day operations of everything benefits and total rewards. This role will support the business in its enterprise objectives through the administration, coordination, and implementation of AWP’s benefit plans. The Benefits Coordinator will foster team member engagement and retention by completely owning the processes below.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as primary contact/first-line response for team member benefit questions
  • Assess benefits eligibility for all team members
  • Create and distribute monthly mailings of benefits offers for all benefit groups
  • Create and distribute special mailings as needed (i.e., required benefits notices)
  • Set up benefits and enrollment sessions within UKGPro
  • Process enrollments in UGK and carrier portals
  • Ensure UKG optimization for file feed accuracy
  • 401(k) administration
  • Coordinate evidence of insurability (EOI) requirements between team members and carrier
  • Assist with claims
  • Process COBRA events (initial and terminations)
  • Track COBRA payments and provide checks to AP
  • Distribute life conversion and portability forms and instructions
  • Perform monthly invoice reviews and resolve discrepancies
  • Access missed premiums and create customized payroll deduction schedules to accommodate atypical benefits payments (LOA, low/no work hours, etc.)
  • Process Qualified Medical Child Support Orders
  • Prepare required data for Forms 1094-C and 1095-C
  • Gather data for Employer Shared Responsibility Payments (ESRP) response to IRS
  • Assist 5500 administrators (Wrangle) with data collection and plan questions.
  • Stay current with system information, changes, and updates
  • Make suggestions to enhance enterprise engagement in total rewards
  • Escalate or transfer issues as appropriate
  • Other duties as assigned


QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 3 years of benefits administration experience preferred
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
  • True ownership of job duties
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to foster a positive culture
  • Organized and focus on detail accuracy
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)


WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Team member must be able to successfully handle the physical demands of this position, which include the following:

  • Hours of operation are typically 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., M-F
  • Primarily sedentary or working at a desk
  • May occasional have to go into the field to interact with team members to gather information
  • Occasionally lift and move 10 -25 pounds
  • While performing duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to talk or hear
  • The team member frequently is required to stand, walk, or reach with hands and arms
