Position SummaryThe Senior Accountant is responsible for assisting in the month-end close associated with an assigned workstream. The assigned workstream can be one of the following, subject to change based on need: capital, cash, contract services, SWBCL, non-income tax, rent/leases/R&M, all other and corporate/shared services.
Responsibilities
- Assist in month-end close process for assigned workstream.
- Prepare, review and analyze various journal entries for accuracy and reasonableness.
- Reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts and perform analytical reviews of monthly activity.
- Assist Manager, Accounting or Director, Accounting with monthly account analytics for leadership.
- Assist in the preparation of schedules for annual audit performed by external auditors.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
- Bachelor's Degree required; BS Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
- Minimum five years of accounting experience required
- Hands-on experience with ERP
- Experience in Microsoft tools required: Outlook, Word, Excel
- Healthcare and corporate office experience preferred
- Lawson and ImageNow system experience preferred
- Knowledge in general ledger.
- Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications.
- Ability to provide accurate and efficient service under the stress of constant deadlines.
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Ability to lead different projects at one time.
- Ability to work and interact with departments throughout the Company.
- Ability to make decisions and communicate those decisions.
- Exceptional analytical and problem solving abilities.
- Exceptional written and verbal skills.
