Holy Cross Academy has an opening for a school nurse. HCA is seeking a professional to make sure that every student has access to mental and physical health services throughout the day. You will work with teachers and parents or guardians on behalf of their students in order to create care plans when needed, including medication management if necessary.
Apart from injuries and sudden ailments, our school nurses may also support students with chronic illnesses and disabilities. This person will also help promote health-related habits and ensure compliance with national and local health policies for schools.
The ideal school nurse is not only helping in many areas of health, but also knows how to work independently or with others. You must have the ability to communicate effectively and assess situations quickly so you can best serve our students' needs.
School Nurse duties include, but are not limited to:
Providing healthcare to students with acute or chronic health problems.
Conducting screenings and writing referrals for health services.
Developing and monitoring health plans for students.
Educate students and staff on healthy habits, such as proper nutrition and hygiene.
Detect health problems in early stages through regular screening.
Keep track of students' vaccination records.
Update students' medical history.
Ensure the school environment is safe for children and school staff.

Ensure compliance with national and local health laws.

Ability to move from campus to campus.
This is an hourly position, 3 to 5 days a week.
Work days/hours are from approximately 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. August to May when school is in session.
