St. Francis Borgia High School in Washington, MO, is hiring for the position of Campus Minister.

The Campus Minister, in conjunction with the campus chaplain, is responsible for faith formation efforts at St. Francis Borgia High School by forming missionary disciples of Jesus Christ. The Campus Minister will create, plan, and implement programs and events to enhance the faith formation of the student body and SFBHS faculty and staff. This person will also support youth ministry efforts at the parishes of St. Francis Borgia and Our Lady of Lourdes.

This 12-month position is based at the high school, while also working with the priests at St. Francis Borgia and Our Lady of Lourdes. It is not a teaching position. Work hours may vary and will include some evenings and weekends. The chosen candidate will begin on July 1, 2024.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise liturgies and prayer services

• Supervise the planning and execution of retreat programs for all grade levels

• Organize and implement an annual regional 8th-grade retreat program

• Grow and evaluate our service program offerings

• Coordinate the SFBHS Christian Service Program

• Build opportunities for reflection and prayer within the community

• Ensure alignment of pastoral programs with theology courses and student activities

• Cultivate leadership opportunities for students to help build pastoral programs

• Participate in ongoing theological and faith-formation opportunities

• Support parish priests in ministering to high school-age parishioners who do not attend St. Francis Borgia

• Take part in faith-formation activities at the parishes of St. Francis Borgia and Our Lady of Lourdes

• Other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

• Hold a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in theology, religious education, or the equivalent, from a Catholic college or university OR be working toward religious education certification as directed by the Archdiocese of St. Louis Office of Catholic Education and Formation

• Successful pastoral leadership experience at the high school level

• Understanding of liturgy, Christian service, and retreat programs

• Excellent organization and communication skills

• Practicing Catholic with a commitment to ministry in education
