Archdiocese of Kansas City is Hiring a Director of Development Near Emporia, KS

Description

The Didde Catholic Campus Center serves the students of Emporia State University and young adults in the Emporia area through the sacraments and a vibrant community. The Didde Catholic Campus Center is seeking to hire a full-time Director of Development, which will be responsible for cultivating and securing contributions from students/donors to meet annual fundraising goals. The incumbent builds, directs and coordinates a comprehensive development program for the Didde Catholic Campus Center and its agencies by ensuring that proper planning, communications and fund-raising activities are implemented, and will serve approximately 150 Catholic students. This position will average 40 hours per week, with the opportunity for a flexible work schedule. This position is hybrid with work completed in the Didde Catholic Campus Center office and remotely. This position is available immediately. 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Oversee the operation of major giving and annual giving programs to meet established goals.
  • Coordinate annual Phonathon Fundraising Campaign, Living Faith Program and Scholarships. 
  • Develop student/donor interaction and develop future database of donors.
  • Build strong, long-lasting relationships with donors/prospects; track success in donor database.
  • Create newsletters and utilize social media and technology to accomplish communication goals.
  • Lead and maintain an active donor program to assure accountability and extend relationships with donors by facilitating the identification, cultivation and solicitation of prospects to reach fund raising goals; provide oversight and management of the donor database.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

  • Verbal and written communication skills including with executive level individuals.
  • Polished interpersonal skills (sales, presentation) in group and individual settings.
  • Highly organized in managing tasks and projects; detail oriented. 
  • Build and maintain constructive and collaborative relationships.
  • Ability to speak authentically about the benefits of Catholic education. 

Qualifications: 

  • Undergraduate degree in Finance, Marketing, Business Administration, Non-Profit Administration or related field is preferred. 
  • Non-profit fundraising and development experience is a strong plus.
  • Previous experience with donor database software such as Bloomerang.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite of products and other communication technology and the ability to learn new technology as needed.
  • Practicing Catholic, registered in a Catholic parish or faith community and must embrace in word and deed the Church’s teachings on faith and morals as articulated by the Church’s magisterium.
