PT Strings Ensemble Instructor:
Temporary position, fall semester 2024
Required:
Bachelor's degree in related field or work in professional orchestra
Illinois Professional Educator License
Strong content knowledge in all strings instruments
Teaching experience in orchestra
Commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment
Ability to support the school's Mission
Ability to pass criminal background check including fingerprinting
Preferred:
Ability to build positive relationships with students, volunteers, and staff
Ability to develop and maintain a strong strings program
Ability to teach students to read and play their music appropriately for Strings Ensemble performances
Strong communication skills
Ability to work with others
Ability to work with a diverse student population and various ages in same classes
Ability to manage strings budget; order and maintain all music, instrument storage, music stands
Exhibits creativity, strong organizational skills, flexibility and patience
Values student inquiry and academic challenge
Encourages students' spiritual growth both inside and outside of the classroom
Cultivates and enhances a collaborative learning community
Class will meet before school every Tuesday and Thursday morning. Other dates and commitments may vary Sunday through Saturday including evenings and weekends including the CCHS Christmas Concert in early December and Open House (usually held on the first Sunday of November).
