Software Developer at Aquarian Systems

Aquarian Systems, a leader in secure and scalable cryptographic system management, is seeking a highly skilled and security-conscious Software Developer to join our team. This role requires a commitment to innovation and quality in designing and developing high-security, user-centric software solutions. Key Responsibilities:

Development & Design:

• Develop and implement secure, scalable products using Java, initially focusing on cryptographic system management.
• Work in collaboration with architects to build innovative features and improvements.
• Apply the highest security measures to safeguard sensitive data.

CI/CD & Infrastructure:

• Utilize and enhance CI/CD pipelines for effective testing, deployment, and turn-around
• Collaborate with the DevOps team to design and optimize cloud-based solutions.

Test Driven Development:

• Design and develop automated unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.
• Uphold code coverage standards and ensure reliable code through TDD practices.

Documentation & Compliance:

• Produce detailed documentation for the codebase and system designs.
• Keep abreast of industry security standards to ensure compliance with regulations.
• Stay updated on advancements in development techniques, JAVA, and related technologies.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in Java development, with a preference for backgrounds in cryptographic solutions.
• Extensive knowledge of JAVA, its ecosystem, DB interaction, and advanced libraries.
• Proficient with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar technologies.
• Demonstrated experience with TDD and associated tools/frameworks like Selenium, etc.
• A solid understanding of secure coding practices.
• Effective communication skills, with proficiency in verbal and written English.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Active Secret or TS/SCI a benefit, but not a requirement … but the ability to obtain secret clearance is a must, therefore valid U.S. citizenship is required
• Experience with spring framework and container technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes is highly desirable.
• Prior engagement with Aerospace and Defense contractors or Civilian Federal services is a plus … and an opportunity to work in an environment without the bureaucracy but a similar mission.
