Job Summary

Aptive Resources is seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our team at the VA Medical Center in Orlando, FL. The Dental Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting a licensed dentist with their day-to-day clinical duties, ensuring high-quality dental care for our veterans. This position requires a combination of technical skill, attention to detail, and a compassionate approach to patient care.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm

Primary Responsibilities

• Assist the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures.
• Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment.
• Take and develop dental radiographs (x-rays).
• Manage infection control by preparing and disinfecting treatment rooms in accordance with current OSHA and CDC guidelines.
• Provide patients with instructions for oral care following surgery or other dental treatment procedures.
• Educate patients on appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health.
• Perform office management tasks as required.
• Ensure the dental operatory and lab areas are maintained in a clean, orderly, and ready-for-use state.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations.

Minimum Qualifications

• Successful completion of a 2-year dental assistant program or a 2-year dental hygiene program accredited by the American Dental Association's Commission on Accreditation, which includes at least 12 semester hours of relevant coursework.
• Certification from the Dental Assisting National Board (DANB) as a Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) is required.
• Proven experience as a Dental Assistant preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Commitment to providing compassionate, high-quality care to veterans.
