Job Description

Applied Systems, Inc., a worldwide leader in insurance technology, is currently searching for a Business Intelligence Analyst for our Customer Operations team. In this role you will act as a day-to-day data analyst, developing, interpreting, and deriving insights from data to drive business impact across our CX and broader go-to-market organization, in collaboration with our GTM, data, and product teams. Areas of focus will include customer-centric initiatives including customer health / churn, product adoption, voice of the customer, etc. You will perform data analysis and build effective, well-designed reports and dashboards to deliver insights, support data-driven operational improvements, and maximize the ability for our business partners to achieve their objectives. The ideal candidate will have expertise in data visualization tools (Tableau or Looker), as well as experience working within large, cloud-hosted datasets (e.g., GCP).

What You’ll Do

• Manage data integrity and build effective, well-designed reports and dashboards.
• Create an end-to-end, robust reporting framework working closely with key stakeholders in CX.
• Define, develop, and maintain KPIs and regular reporting in Salesforce & Tableau, along with delivering ad hoc analyses, to help monitor the business and inform business decisions.
• Transform complex datasets into digestible, actionable insights for review by a wide range of potential audiences and with fast turnaround times.
• Over time, develop a strong understanding of CX and overall business strategy, leveraging data insights to suggest operational improvements and measurable outcomes.
• Generate data insights and ongoing reporting in support of CX initiatives including customer metrics, churn, product usage data, account planning, and more.
• Uncover and correct data fidelity issues, reconcile data discrepancies, and support data governance initiatives.
• Become an expert on key internal and external data sources.
• Work cross-functionally within the organization to identify opportunities to improve data quality and related data architecture practices.
• Other duties as assigned by immediate manager or management team.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

We’re looking for someone who:

• Can work hybrid from our Applied Systems Chicago offices.

Your experience should include some or all the following:

• Four (4) or more years of professional work experience in business analysis, reporting, strategy, analytics, business intelligence, or financial planning and reporting.
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, economics, mathematics, or other highly quantitative fields.
• Demonstrated performance and success in performance dashboard creation, mapping, and presenting data insights to various audiences preferably in a Customer Experience or Operational capacity.
• Prior systems usage, including Salesforce (built & deployed Salesforce reports and dashboards).
• Advanced BI tool proficiency (Tableau, Alteryx, Looker, etc.).
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
• Motivated problem solver: high attention to detail, with the ability to troubleshoot complex or ambiguous problems on tight timelines while navigating conflicting priorities independently.
• Present through business acumen: communicate (verbal & written) and translate business requirements into technical solutions to all levels of the organization.

Additionally, you may have:

• Worked in a Customer Experience environment / Operations background.
