We are seeking a mid-level Software Developer with strong experience in web development! This position will sit in our Herndon, VA office.

Candidates must be legally eligible to work in the United States and you must be willing to undergo a background and drug screening. An active Secret Clearance is required.

Responsibilities

• Write code and contribute to software solutions
• Mentor peers
• Understand how to apply new technologies in novel ways to solve complex problems
• Participate in technical discussions
• Perform code reviews
• Collaborate with team members
• Assist with software architecture design
• Stay abreast on new and upcoming technologies

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience building Python applications and familiarity with modern Python frameworks (esp. Django)
• Familiar with modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., Angular, React, Vue.js, Ember, etc.)
• Experience developing web applications and working with REST APIs
• Familiar with open-source technologies and software
• Firsthand knowledge of software engineering best practices (e.g., code reviews, design documentation, unit testing)
• Possess an extremely sound understanding in the basic areas of Computer Science such as object-oriented design
• Comfortable as a self-starter and a fast learner
• Must be willing to report to office location (Herndon, VA) daily to start, can negotiate hybrid schedule after first 4 weeks.

Preferred

• Familiar with (or willingness to learn) sysadmin tasking to assist with python packaging, product deployment (RPM), continuous integration
• Experience developing rich software applications and single page applications using RESTful services, AJAX, JSON, CORS, and/or WebSockets
• Knowledge of cross platform/browser compatibility issues for dynamic web applications
• Experience designing/building front end web software with HTML, CSS, Javascript, and general web development techniques
• Experience working in a UNIX/Linux environment (Redhat/CentOS focus)
• Experience working in an Agile development environment
