The DarkStar Group is seeking a Software Developer with a TS/SCI Poly clearance (applicable to this customer) to join one of our top projects in Herndon, VA. Below is an overview of the project, as well as information on our company, our benefits, and our $25,000 referral program.

THE PROGRAM

The DarkStar Group is a member of 100% of the winning teams for the largest technology program in the Intel Community. We've been supporting this customer on many different sub-projects of this program since our founding in 2013. THE PROJECT

The Sponsor requires an experienced, skilled and cybersecurity focused team to maintain, enhance and continue the development of malware deterrence solutions. The Sponsor’s solutions leverage open-source, commercial and Government off the Shelf (GOTS) developed capabilities that analyze datasets to eradicate malware in accordance with Sponsor requirements in a number of constrained and elastically scalable use cases.

THE ROLE

• Work in a mostly Linux development environment.
• Maintain, develop and support an orchestrated (CI/CD, SecDevOps) build, test and deployment pipeline for all environments and code.
• Maintain, develop and support a custom hardened CentOS Linux, USB-bootable runtime environment.
• Develop, support and maintain a custom hardened Linux Rocky container.
• Maintain and support a legacy Java codebase, as well as legacy codebase support and deployment tools.
• Develop, support and maintain a Python codebase.
• Develop, support and maintain an integrated GOTS, OSS, and COTS data processing pipeline.
• Develop, support and maintain the use of relational and non-relational databases within the product.
• Develop, support and maintain the use of JSON, API, encryption and logging requirements.
• Develop, support and maintain web front-end development.
• Develop, support and maintain the orchestration, queueing and elastic deployment of containers and processing jobs across a dynamic number of deployed processing containers.
• Routinely work to optimize and accelerate processing such as reduce time and increase effectiveness.
• Routinely work to enhance the overall backend and UI software requirements as part of a Sponsor defined roadmap of requirements and needs.
• Integrate the output audit and logging of file processing into other Sponsor data analytic activities.
• Analyze audit and log data to enhance the Sponsors overarching mission.
• Create deployment packages, both virtual and physical, and coordinate their delivery to customers.
• Create reliable, fault tolerant software using methodology to increase operational use and security throughout the software lifecycle.
• Analyze and study complex system and software requirements.
• Design software tools and subsystems to support software reuse and resiliency.
• Translate detailed design into computer software and implement and deploy commercial packages for customers.
• Prepare required documentation including both program-level and user-level documentation.
• Enhance software solutions to reduce operating time or improve efficiency.
• Provide technical guidance in the conveyance of software engineering techniques and use of automated support tools.
• Create detailed flow charts, programs, and tests; coordinate with project manager, systems engineer, and software developers, to ensure code is implemented according to system specification.
• Develop software solutions, in conjunction with functional users, system alternatives and solutions; and prepare test plans and test data for proposed software solutions.
• Use existing enterprise services rather than building single-purpose solutions; any deviations require prior approval via the Sponsor-approved waiver process.
• Catalog, manage and protect application data using enterprise services.

Required Skills

• Demonstrated experience with Linux environments including development and administration.
• Demonstrated experience in software development using integrated development environments. Support orchestrated build, test and deployment pipeline.
• Demonstrated experience developing and debugging complex applications.
• Demonstrated experience to support hardened CentOS/RHEL/Rocky Linux applications.
• Demonstrated experience programming in Java and Python codebase to support data processing pipelines.
• Demonstrated experience developing web applications with JavaScript/CSS/HTML.
• Demonstrated experience with Bash scripting.
• Demonstrated experience to develop, support and maintain JSON, API, encryption and logging requirements.
• Demonstrated experience developing, supporting and maintaining front and back end development.
• Demonstrated experience working with Docker containers, maintaining orchestration, queueing and elastic deployment of containers.
• Demonstrated experience analyzing audit and log data to support analytic activities.
• Demonstrated experience executing deliverables with high standards and attention to detail.
• Routinely work to enhance the overall backend and UI software requirements.
• Demonstrated experience developing customized applications, with a Linux baseline.
• Demonstrated experience designing software tools and subsystems to support software reuse and resiliency.
• Demonstrated experience creating test cases, test plans and test scripts for software applications.
• Demonstrated ability managing and supporting AWS and VMware.
• Demonstrated experience with Linux server-side development and automation tasks such as Kickstart, shell scripting, to build and configure software.
• Demonstrated experience in continuous configuration and package management for Yum and Docker repositories

• Demonstrated experience creating functional and technical design specifications for software development efforts.
• Demonstrated experience with content disarm reconstruction tools.
• Demonstrated experience with anti-malware engines.
• Demonstrated experience with version control systems like Gitlab.
