Safety Operations Manager – Distribution Center
Salary: $85,000 - $95,000
General Summary:
Lead our clients safety program, ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for all team members.
Leverage your manufacturing background and safety expertise to develop and implement effective safety practices.
Partner with key stakeholders to integrate safety into all aspects of their operations.
Responsibilities:
Safety Leadership:
•Champion a continuous improvement safety culture through training and development of safety leaders.
•Conduct regular safety audits and floor walks to identify and address potential hazards.
•Analyze safety data, investigate incidents, and implement corrective actions.
•Oversee the completion of assigned building safety action plans.
Compliance & Risk Management:
•Ensure adherence to all federal, state, and company safety regulations.
•Work closely with compliance partners (industrial hygiene, environmental) to address potential health exposure issues.
•Partner in the development and implementation of abatement plans for safety citations.
Program Development & Implementation:
• Develop and implement innovative safety programs tailored to the unique needs of our DC.
• Train and coach assigned personnel on Hierarchy of Controls, Hazard Identification and Control (HICP), and root cause analysis (RCA).
• Monitor the execution and effectiveness of safety programs, making adjustments as necessary.
Sanitation & Pest Control:
•Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment through the development and implementation of sanitation policies.
•Manage waste disposal and recycling programs.
•Oversee the facility's pest control program, working with a third-party vendor.
Qualifications:
Experience:
Minimum 4-year degree or equivalent experience (3-5 years) in manufacturing safety.
Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification preferred.
Skills:
•Proven safety leadership skills with a strong manufacturing background.
•In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and best practices.
•Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
•Effective communication, collaboration, and relationship-building abilities.
•Experience with continuous improvement methodologies.
Physical Requirements:
•Ability to move freely throughout the DC for safety monitoring.
