Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

The PT Specialist II, Orientation supports other staff by performing task-oriented duties and providing clerical, operational, and administrative assistance under general supervision. Primarily supports Orientation and Admissions departments by serving prospective and new students with their transition to LSC.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Provides general administrative support to the departments of New Student Orientation and Admissions
  2. Assist with scheduling events and sharing information regarding deadlines, schedules, and events
  3. Share information with students regarding admissions and application processes as well as New Student Orientation
  4. Assists with collecting, entering, and reporting data related to Admissions and New Student Orientation
  5. Troubleshoot questions and inquiries with the scope of knowledge and responsibility; make referrals to appropriate departments for detailed inquiries outside of scope
  6. Responsible for other reasonable, related duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Working knowledge of general office practices and procedures
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and web applications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to use critical thinking to problem solve
  • Excellent customer service skills

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.

WORK SCHEDULE AND CONDITIONS:

  • Equipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone and other general office equipment
  • Interface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position
  • Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED and at least 3 years of work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Salary

Hourly Pay Rate is $14.55
