JOB DESCRIPTION

The Receptionist will answer all phone calls, may need to type necessary administrative correspondence and responsible for proof reading of the same. • Assists in other duties as assigned by the Administrator or Business Office Manager. Accepts messages and forwards proper information to Administrator and all Department heads. Screens all calls to determine whether calls are emergency or personal. Assists departments by following up on emergency telephone contacts to Department Heads. Records messages accurately and relays them immediately and appropriately. Provides appropriate information to all inquiries at the facility. Provides job applications to all inquiries. Accepts completed job applications and forwards to appropriate Department Heads. Monitor resident safety when leaving the facility. Notify appropriate Nursing Unit when resident leaving unattended, or confused resident leaving without appropriate nursing staff. Makes appropriate courteous announcements if parking regulations are violated. Makes appropriate fire and safety announcement.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Prior work experience as a receptionist is preferable
• Ability to use multi-line phone system
• Ability to multitask and to cater to multiple groups at one time
• Ability to dissolve conflict, take criticism, and solve problems
• Ability to learn quickly on the job
• Knowledge of basic administration skills and tasks such as scheduling and filing
