JOB DESCRIPTION

The Human Resources Generalist reports to the Corporate Director of HR and assumes the total responsibility for Human Resources including Benefits, Payroll, and Recruitment. Responsible for all personnel benefits information including health, dental and workmen compensation cases. In addition, is responsible for the interpretation and implementation of facility policy and procedure governing employee benefits and payroll issues and answering related employee questions.

·Maintains payroll records as required by law

·Processes any changes that take place in payroll

·Assists employees in completing all paperwork needed for workmen compensation short-term disability, dental and health plans as requested by supervisor

·Assures that all reports required by the State, Federal and other agencies are completed within proper time frame

·Assumes responsibilities that are requested by immediate supervisor or Administrator

·Implements any corporate directives regarding new changes in processing payroll, Health and life insurance, 401-K or other programs

·Assist in the oversight of the recruitment process for the facility and coordinate strategies to find prospective candidates

·Post vacancies on the Apploi platform

·Assess incoming resumes and screen potential candidates

·Coordinate pre-employment process

·Works with the Staff Development Coordinator on orientation of new employees

·Attends all facility meetings that are assigned – fire and safety meetings

·Performs all required documentation to comply with State and Federal guidelines

·Assists with the implementation of administrative policies governing payroll and benefit programs

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Graduate or equivalent
  • Familiar with all aspects of employee benefits including health and insurance benefits
  • Knowledge of HR and employment laws is strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of workmen compensation process
  • Long-term Care or Nursing Home experience preferred
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Strong written and oral communications skills
  • Ability to perform duties and responsibilities with minimum supervision
