The Archdiocese of Baltimore has an opening for a High School Social Studies Teacher. The ideal candidate will have a strong desire to teach in a diverse, faith-based, nurturing environment. Candidates must be knowledgeable about current instructional strategies and be skilled at creating lessons with high levels of student engagement for students in grades 9-12. This is a full-time, benefit eligible, 10-month teaching position.

Essential Functions

• Plan and implement Daily lessons for students based on school curriculum
• Manage all aspects of the classroom (including but not limited to: instruction, discipline, communication etc.)
• Perform assigned teacher duties on a rotating schedule with rest of the faculty
• Attend all faculty meetings and in-services
• Participate in school community events (including but not limited to: graduations, award ceremonies, festivals, and open houses)
• Communicate student progress with parents through in person and online systems

Position Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in history. A master's degree is preferred
• Knowledge of best practices and strong instructional and pedagogical techniques is also imperative
• Current MSDE certification
• Minimum of three years of experience (teaching middle/high school Social Studies preferred)
• Experience in a Catholic School setting is preferred
• Must be comfortable with technology to include integration in daily lessons
• Must have a commitment to Catholic School education
