Job Summary
Maintain in good working condition and appearance the facilities, equipment and grounds, and to provide a safe, professional and efficient shelter program.
Specific Duties
· Perform all general repair duties required to maintain AHANM buildings and grounds. This includes constructing, repairing and painting metal and wooden structures, interior and exterior building painting, installing and, when possible, repairing small appliances, and cooler and heating maintenance. When repairs are beyond your capacity, an outside contractor may be used, with approval from Facilities Director.
· Cut, water, trim and fertilize grass, shrubs and trees. Maintain the inner court area, pull weeds, and sweep street and sidewalks in front of buildings as needed.
· Maintain and keep organized and neat, storage sheds utilized for storing equipment, supplies, donated building materials, etc.
· Utilize and provide safekeeping for all tools, maintenance equipment, etc.
· Be responsible for inventory and issuance of supplies and tools to departments.
· Help set up for special events, as well as break down and clean up after event.
· Maintain communication about community service program with supervisor.
· Assign community service workers to appropriate tasks or work areas, check on them regularly and provide adequate supervision and guidance.
· Assist where needed and perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
· Keep daily log of assignments completed.
· Help with security issues.
· Fill work orders and requisitions.
· Responds to all Hippo work orders as assigned, maintenance ticketing software. Use computer programs as necessary.
· Maintains the facilities and equipment to meet function, efficiency, health, and safety standards.
· Performs routine preventative maintenance services, and repairs on critical equipment such as HVAC units
· Inspect facilities' structures and equipment to determine the need for repairs, maintenance, or renovations.
· Timely, calmly, and methodically repair critical equipment with minimal downtime.
· Move equipment between locations as necessary
· Other Duties as assigned
· Kennel maintenance.
· Assist with vehicle maintenance.
Job Conditions:
Noise level may be high. Requires handling and use of power equipment; and a valid driver license. Requires lifting 50 pounds and handling of industrial cleaners. Hours and schedule may vary.
Physical Requirement:
· Must be able to stand for long periods, 8 – 10 hours multiple days in a row.
· Must be able to lift at least 80 lbs.
· Must be able to occasionally lift about 150 lbs. with a team lift.
· Ability to work at heights like rooftops, lofts, scaffolds, ladders, and elevated platforms
· Must be able to bend/stoop/climb/reach.
· Ability to handle high-stress situations, ambiguity and changing priorities.
· Must be able to tolerate a reasonable amount of work stress
· Work in varying environmental conditions at times; hot, cold, and humidity.
· Work with dirty and laborious activities at times.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education
Must be able to effectively communicate in written and oral presentation (English)
Experience
One (1) year experience with full physical plant maintenance.
