Job Functions: What you’ll be doing

The Assistant Manager helps cultivate a team environment that provides exceptional Guest service while ensuring all team members perform at a consistently high level. The Assistant Manager assists the General Manager in all aspects of center operations and floor management, including entertainment, food, beverage, equipment, and property, to facilitate the fulfillment of financial goals and company initiatives.

  • In the GM’s absence, the Assistant Manager assumes responsibility for center operations.
  • The ability to display high degree of judgment, discretion and confidentiality.
  • The Assistant Manager must provide leadership and vision to the center staff in support of Andy B’s Entertainment and Bowling Center’s mission and values.
  • Greet every guest with a smile, eye contact and enthusiasm. *Ideally within 10 feet.
  • The ability to display high degree of judgment, discretion and confidentiality.
  • Accountable for meeting or exceeding overall “mystery shopper” center’s experience.
  • Proactively builds customer relations through soliciting feedback and addressing and resolving guest complaints.
  • Schedules staffing levels to appropriately meet the needs of the business and maximize the guest experience.
  • Continuously improves operational execution through attention to detail and adherence to the Center’s Operating Standards.
  • Develop and maintain open play business through promotions and events.
  • Develops and maintains league business through effective relationships with league bowlers/officers, adherence to league formats, distribution of announcements of league activities, and the management of other related administrative duties.
  • Reviews financial reports with GM and helps to develop action plans to grow revenue and control expenses in order to meet or exceed annual budgets.
  • May Recruit, hire, train and schedule hourly center staff as part of team management and development responsibilities if instructed by the GM.
  • Leads and influences staff through effective motivation, leveraging individual strengths to ensure customer satisfaction and maximum productivity.
  • Promotes positive employee relations including effective delegation of duties, fostering high staff morale, collaborating successfully with the entire management team, upholding the Center’s Operating Standards, and execution of the Performance Management process.
  • Addresses center level HR issues by collaborating with the General Manager and Support Center staff.
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable occupational, health, and safety regulations and laws. Creates an environment where safety comes first and all employees strictly adhere to Center’s Operating Standards.
  • The Assistant Manager must also have flexibility with scheduling to support the business as extended workdays are frequent occurrence as are nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements: What you’ll bring

  • The Assistant Manager possesses a strong sense of customer service and interpersonal skills including high integrity, respect for all individuals (customers, vendors, and employees), solid communication skills, strong critical and analytical thinking skills, and appreciation of diversity (thought, ethnic, gender, etc.).
  • The Assistant Manager must be a dedicated team player and a people developer that possesses a strong desire to grow, develop, and the potential to become a General Manager candidate.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred, with one to two years management experience and ability to supervise center operations staff. Relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.
  • Must become certified in the Center’s specified alcohol service program within 30 days of employment and the Center’s specified food safety program within 30 days of employment.
