Responsibilities: As a Director of Ancillary Premium, you will:
  • Strategic Partnership: Collaborate with Finance & Premium Department Leaders to maintain service and quality standards across the Premium workflow.
  • Operational Excellence: Create and maintain operational reports to manage departmental key performance metrics.
  • Team Leadership: Manage a high-performing Ancillary Premium Processing Team through mentoring, performance evaluation, and promoting a continuous learning environment.
  • Process Efficiency: Work with functional department leaders to ensure process efficiencies, effectiveness, consistency, and issue resolution is achieved.
  • Departmental Oversight: Oversee the overall Ancillary Premium operations and performance of the team, including staffing decisions, annual evaluations, and disciplinary actions.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure quality standards are met, develop goals, and training documents to address opportunities for improvement.
  • Technical Expertise: Understand all aspects of Ancillary sold forms, Premium processes, and carrier and broker back-ups and guide the team to ensure accurate Ancillary Premium processing.
  • Compliance Management: Maintain adherence to carrier and broker Ancillary Premium processing requirements.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with Ancillary Account Management and Sales Support teams to resolve pending Ancillary Premium issues in a timely manner.
  • Innovation: Operationalize new products and services by leveraging the capabilities of the accounting system.
  • Relationship Building: Develop positive and collaborative relationships with internal departments and individuals for efficient service delivery.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as the Ancillary Premium subject matter expert, representing the Finance Operations Department in internal and external engagements.
  • Team Development: Be accountable for the selection, training, and ongoing professional development of the Ancillary Premium Operations staff.
Qualifications: To excel in this role, you'll need:
  • Industry Experience: Ancillary insurance, healthcare, or Premium accounting experience required, including but not limited to - Life/AD&D, LTD, STD, FMLA, Leave and Absence, Dental, Vision, etc.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong mathematical, billing, reconciliation, and analytical skills.
  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced Excel knowledge required. Strong technical aptitude in other systems a plus (Power Automate, PowerBI, SharePoint).
  • Management Experience: 7-10 years of management experience strongly preferred.
  • Time Management: Proven ability to effectively manage time, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines.
  • Multitasking: Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Urgency and Attention to Detail: Exhibit a sense of urgency, attention to detail, and a desire to learn.
