Primary responsibilities include (but may not be limited to):

• Supervise business office personnel in the areas of reception/patient registration, scheduling, insurance verification, billing, coding, payment posting/collection/follow-up, accounts payable, physician credentialing, HR, and payroll.
• Proficiently back-up all positions as needed in the business office
• Balance and reconcile month-end reports
• Completes monthly business office staffing schedule
• Reconciles on-site petty cash logs
• Oversees/delegates medical record storage
• Performs/delegates opening and distribution of daily mail
• Transport/deposit cash to bank as required
• Ensures effective cross-departmental communication and functions with clinical departments
• Education and development of business office personnel
• Coordinate and evaluate business office activities to assist with minimizing operating costs
• When appropriate, delegate duties to relevant personnel and monitor their performance

Qualifications / Experience:

• Prior experience in healthcare business office setting, preferably an Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) with demonstrated proficiency in the above listed responsibilities
• Strong leadership skills; ability to exercise good judgment and to positively influence and lead others, including handling conflicts with poise and effectiveness
• Strong organization and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated ability for self-direction and initiative
• Strong computer/technology skills
• Excellent communication skills
• English/Spanish bilingual a plus
