AMS Connect is Hiring a General Manager Near Palm Desert, CA

AMS Connect is hiring a General Manager in our Palm Springs, CA location.

Position Summary:

Position is responsible for providing leadership and direction to branch staff including developing strategy and implementing action plans to meet corporate priorities. Responsible for total management involvement in all aspects of branch operations to include: sales, service, and administrative functions to achieve profitability and growth of the business.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for leading and overseeing all branch operations.
  • Responsible for implementing programs designed to meet or exceed Corporate objectives in all areas of branch business; revenue, sales, and margins.
  • Responsible for managing the branch to an approved financial plan which includes operating expenses, accounts receivable/collections, labor/compensation costs, and inventory.
  • Responsible for the identification, selection, and development of potential new and existing customers, e.g. electricians, architects, general contractors, property management, RMR acquisitions, commercial and residential end users. Has emphasis on expanding customer base.
  • Responsible for maintaining on-going, two-way communications with customers through staff from initial contact through order, installation, and service. Ensure contractual obligations are met, to include ensuring inspections are current.
  • Actively participate in resolving customer problems to minimize customer customer concerns and attrition.
  • Responsible for setting fair and manageable sales and service goals. Ensure that performance measures and goals are assigned and employees are motivated to achieve and exceed objectives.
  • Responsible for organizing, developing, and empowering an effective team to grow the business.
  • Ensure the sales teams are maintaining assigned sales quotas and following established guidelines.
  • Work directly with upper management in the development and implementation of sales and operation strategies.
  • Develop plans for the efficient use of employees, equipment, and materials.
  • Maintain a strong knowledge of all products including fire alarm and security alarm systems.
  • Work closely with management and employees in evaluating the quality of service provided to customers and develop procedures to minimize customer complaints and cancellations.
  • Directly manages branch staff. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of all units of operation.
  • Adhere to current Pye Barker Fire and Safety policies, procedures, products, programs and services

Qualifications:

  • 5-8 years in the fire/security protection industry required.
  • Bachelor degree in a business or engineering discipline OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated management/leadership abilities to include training, team building, presentation, negotiation, branch administration, and effective interaction with customers and company leadership.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret and a variety of technical instructions and deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret bid documents, CAD drawings, schematics, financial reports and legal documents.
  • Ability to respond to common inquires or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and reporting skills.
  • Ability to set and surpass aggressive sales, service and profit goals.
