Special Requirements

• Active DHS Public Trust OR Top Secret clearance
• Bachelor Degree 10 years of experience in Information Assurance/ Cyber Security
• Remote, but must be available to travel to Ashburn, VA occasionally
• Python language experience

The Gist…

Our Senior Security Engineer will support the team with complex system security tasks that arise in the environment, with application components in different security postures and environments. You will work independently and in coordination with other team members to tackle hard problems and dig deep into issues to find the solution within the constraints that exist. This is a great opportunity to work on mission-critical systems that bring clear value to the end user and to the customer and provide leadership opportunities overseeing the work of Information System Security Officers (ISSOs).

What Your Day Might Include…

• Design and automate processes that support the ISSOs, such as system log management and intrusion detection processes. 
• Create dashboards to assess information about security findings. 
• Manage system certifications. 
• Collaborate with auditors and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with security regulations and standards.
• Streamline and enhance existing security workflows through the development of efficient automation scripts and tools.
• Provide technical expertise in developing automated solutions that align with security policies and objectives.
• Develop and implement automated processes for collecting, analyzing, and archiving system logs.
• Ensure log management systems are robust, scalable, and capable of identifying security incidents in real-time.
• Design and automate intrusion detection mechanisms to identify and respond to security incidents promptly.
• Implement proactive measures to enhance the organization's ability to detect and mitigate emerging threats.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of automated security processes.
• Identify areas for improvement and implement enhancements to optimize the overall security infrastructure.
• Create comprehensive documentation for automated processes, ensuring clarity and ease of understanding for ISSOs and other stakeholders.
• Maintain up-to-date documentation as processes evolve.

Requirements

You'll Bring These Qualifications...

• Understanding of REST API design and implementation 
• Knowledgeable in PKI certificate management
• Python language experience 
• Familiar with Cloud/Containerization technologies 
• Experience with Business Intelligence and Analytics tools (Microsoft Power BI, SAP BusinessObjects, Tableau or similar)
• Experienced with Splunk and ELK stack for log management and data analysis
• Knowledgeable in Vulnerability Management practices and tools
• Skilled in Secure Code Reviews
