The Gist…

As a Contract Administrator working for a government contractor, you will play a vital role in supporting the contract management team. Your primary responsibility will be to assist in the administration and coordination of prime and subcontracts in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies. Your attention to detail and strong organizational skills will ensure that contracts are managed efficiently and effectively.

Your Day Might Include…

Contract Administration: Assist in the administration of contracts and subcontracts throughout their lifecycle, from initial drafting and review to contract closeout, ensuring compliance with all contractual requirements. 

  • Contract Modifications: Support the contract management team in drafting, reviewing, and processing contract modifications, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Contract Review: Conduct thorough reviews of subcontract and contract terms and conditions, identifying any potential risks or issues, and providing recommendations to the contract management team.
  • Contract Closeout: Assist in the timely and accurate closure of contracts, including the resolution of any outstanding issues and the completion of required documentation.

Subcontract Administration:  Establish and maintain subcontractor relationships throughout the project lifecycle, including addressing issues, facilitating communication, and resolving disputes in a timely and professional manner.

  • Solicit bids and proposals from potential subcontractors,
  • Draft and administer subcontract agreements, including reviewing terms and conditions, defining scope of work, and ensuring all contractual obligations are met.
  • Coordinate subcontract modifications, amendments, and extensions as necessary, ensuring proper documentation and approval processes are followed.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to subcontracting activities, including correspondence, agreements, and change orders.

Document Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date prime contract files, including all relevant documentation, modifications, amendments, and correspondence.

Compliance Support: Support in monitoring compliance with applicable contract requirements, laws, regulations, and company policies throughout the contract lifecycle.

Customer and Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to address inquiries, provide contract-related information, and ensure effective communication throughout the contract lifecycle.

Business Development Support: Play a vital role in supporting business development efforts through the preparation, review and administration of Non-Disclosure Agreements and Teaming Agreements.

Requirements

You’ll Bring These Qualifications…

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of professional work experience administering federal government contracts and subcontracts.
  • Experience negotiating terms and conditions
  • Successful history of managing a variety of tasks
  • Strong organizational, written and oral communication skills.
  • Must be able to exercise reasonable judgement and meet deadlines 
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint)
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills, strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize work.
