hi there, we’re amika. a friend to hair, hairstylists, her, him, them, you. amika means friend in the language esperanto and is a symbol of our belief in the power of community the beauty of diversity.  
 
brooklyn-born salon raised: where creativity culture are a way of life. we’re a collective of creatives, hairstylists, chemists, product enthusiasts that like to bend the rules.

the job: 

The Marketing Intern will support the overall day-to-day needs of the pro marketing team, as well as focusing on two major projects within the professional salon side of the business to help reinforce pro-specific community communication channels. This includes working collaboratively with internal teams to support pro business strategy, pro community, and pro programs. The ideal candidate should be a marketing enthusiast with a passion for the beauty industry. We are looking for someone who has excellent communication skills, is highly analytical and organized, and a natural problem solver.

salary: $16 p/h

what you’ll do:

Two key projects to foster amika’s brand image within the professional salon space:

• Pro community program: assist with initiatives to grow membership engagement, coordinate with cross-functional teams to collect inputs for content creation, maintain organize automated workflows
• Email marketing campaign: collect inputs from cross-functional teams, assist with briefing copy creative teams for content, maintain organize email marketing workflow

Support other pro marketing team projects as needed:

• Collect quantitative and qualitative data from campaigns 
• Assist with regular competitive benchmarking market monitoring
• Updating the annual pro marketing calendar with campaign/program updates
• Support the team with administrative tasks including building decks presentations, asset organization, agenda/recap distribution more
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as required

must-haves: 

• Major in marketing or business administration, bonus if in brand or product marketing
• Strong interest in beauty/cosmetics and hair
• Strong attention to detail, ability to manage multiple projects and great sense of collaboration
• Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment
• Strong organizational skills
• Excellent oral and written communication, analytical, and creative skills 

nice-to-haves:

• Experience with email marketing or community management
• French or Spanish
