Training Specialist
Location: Rome, NY/Liverpool, NY
Starting Range for this position - $51,300 to $64,000, actual starting pay will depend on experience.

The Position:
AmeriCU Credit Union is in search of a Training Specialist who aligns directly with our mission to provide our members with the right financial services to live life, dream big, and achieve financial success, and our vision to be the most admired organization in every community we serve. As the Training Specialist you willCreate, develop, implement, evaluate and conduct training and development programs on credit union industry specific topics for all front-line employees; including clerical, supervisory, technical, and lower-level management staff.
What You’ll Do:
As the Training Specialistyour primary responsibilities will include:
  • Training Program: Plans, organizes, and effectively conducts employee training on various skill, policy, and compliance areas.
  • Instructional Design & Development: Prepare and maintain training materials to support instruction and learning needs using a variety of modalities. This includes leader’s guides, participant guides and workbooks.
  • Designs, drafts, and/or acquires new training materials. Evaluates and modifies existing or proposed program materials; suggests and implements suitable changes.
  • Facilitation: Leads and facilitates training workshops designed, using adult education principles, with a variety of instruction methods; including group discussion, lecture, simulations and videos on various topics:
    • Member Service training, including transaction processing, cash handling, compliance, and member communications skills. In addition, responsible for session facilitation of all new/revised products as pertains to the Teller function.
  • Creates, organizes, plans, and presents various forms of onboarding, orientation and skill training for employees on the topics of navigating the Intranet, Knowledge Systems, Fire & Security training, MVP1 Culture, products and services, etc.
  • Product & Service knowledge, including features, benefits, member service skills, procedural and compliance reinforcement and refresher training as needed, on and off-site, including Reg. CC, Truth-in-Savings, OFAC and Bank Secrecy Act sessions. Serve as resource to users for how-to questions relative to core systems and procedures and assist with problem resolution.
  • Operational systems training, including Symitar, and related systems for front-line use in member service delivery. Conduct staff training on Financial Center technology enhancements, such as Kiosk, Cash Dispense Machines, Cash Recyclers, Interactive Teller Capture equipment, ATM, ITM’s, etc.
  • Collaborate with outside consultants and various stakeholders (HR, MTS, CLT and SST etc.) to schedule and facilitate presentations for training.
  • Evaluation and Skills Assessment: Administers, scores, and logs results of qualification, learning assessment and retention tests; arranges retraining or other appropriate action for insufficient scores.
  • Create and utilize instruments or other methods to measure student learning. Assess employee comprehension and retention of training content. Provide feedback to employees and managers.
  • Organize a shadow and mentor program with employee at their FC to aid in on the job training as well as assess their progress.
  • Evaluates program effectiveness through assessments, surveys, and feedback.
  • Training Consultation: Report evaluation results to management and others in the organization responsible for coaching and developing employee performance.
  • Administration: Reviews content and makes updates and/or adjustments as needed.
    • Facilitates delivery of training by reserving and setting up needed audiovisual equipment and training rooms; scheduling training times with attendees; preparing and distributing training aids such as handouts; and performing other related tasks.
    • Updates and maintenances the respective training regions, coordinating region updates and preparing examples to be used in training.
    • Deploy courses and curriculum via learning technologies, responsible for uploading and deploying classes to learning management system (LMS).
    • Assist in monitoring and tracking of training sessions and managing of program enrollment/registration process on the LMS. Maintain libraries of training resources, including instructional videos, texts, manuals and reference materials.
  • Enhancement Testing and Documentation: Participate in and/or lead testing for system programming as pertains to system validations, automations, scripts, Symforms, Symitar releases, programming to support initiatives related to the MSS II role.
  • Assist Process Improvement by testing change implementations across test operational systems before integration in the Live programming.
  • Documenting the process improvement changes and updating the existing class material that supports that process and function.
  • Documentation: Assist with the updates to the documentation that results from new initiatives, regulatory/compliance updates, process /workflow changes, and system releases/enhancements related to the MSS II role.
  • Mentoring: Work with Training Specialist II to learn and deliver advanced training classes. Act as a mentor to new employees, providing guidance and support during their onboarding.
  • Ongoing Development: Researches and maintains knowledge of the latest trends in training and development.
