Looking for an optometrist interested in working in a medical setting, and closely with ophthalmology. Expect to practice full scope optometry with minimal refractions and technician support. Duties:
- Conduct comprehensive eye examinations to assess vision and detect any abnormalities or diseases. Technician support provided.
- Minimal to no refractions.
- Diagnose and treat various eye conditions, such as glaucoma, cataracts, and macular degeneration.
- Provide pre- and post-operative care for patients undergoing eye surgeries.
- Educate patients on proper eye care and preventive measures.
- Work closely with ophthalmology. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic patient care.
- Utilize electronic medical record systems to document patient information accurately.
Experience:
- Doctor of Optometry degree from an accredited optometry program.
- Valid state license to practice optometry.
- Strong clinical skills and knowledge of current optometric practices.
- Proficiency in using electronic medical record systems for medical records management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages and backgrounds.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Residency or ophthalmology experience required.
