American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is Hiring a Facilities Maintenance Specialist Near Columbus, OH

Please make sure to attach your resume to complete your application. Summary: The Facilities Maintenance Specialist will report to the Senior Manager of Facilities Operations - CRC. The Facilities Maintenance Specialist is responsible for overseeing the regular maintenance and repairs of the ASPCA’s Cruelty Recovery Center (CRC) property and equipment and for all Planned Preventative Maintenance programs; forecasting correctly and fulfilling the need for new equipment when required. The Facilities Maintenance Specialist must be willing to work a flexible schedule (Monday- Friday, Tuesday-Saturday or Sunday-Thursday) but also be on 24/7 call as necessary. Responsibilities: Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Maintenance (70%) Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on building and facilities Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs to building and facilities including carpentry, light plumbing, and light electrical work. Remove snow/ice as needed Coordinate maintenance and repairs to equipment and appliances including hand trucks, freezers/refrigerators, etc. Order parts and supplies as needed Perform light vehicle maintenance (filling up tires, adding windshield wiper fluid and antifreeze, checking oil and transmission fluid) Schedule and take vehicles in to shop for inspections and maintenance Plan, organize and direct the general maintenance and repair of the ASPCA’s Ohio CRC. Ensure all Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) is completed safely, cost effectively, on time and to a satisfactory standard. Analyze the operations of various site infrastructure systems, determine the root cause of any problem / malfunctions and take corrective action to restore to satisfactory operating condition. Support Senior Manager in forecasting and executing Capital Improvement projects (I.E. Major infrastructure equipment replacement, new equipment installations and alterations to space) Monitor essential building systems to ensure systems are operating correctly and efficiently. Such systems include electrical, mechanical, security, fire alarm panel and suppression system, plumbing, heating and air conditioning systems. Responsible for communicating and coordinating efforts at Ohio CRC with onsite Inventory Ensure all systems are performing as optimal as possible to reduce operating cost. Regularly inspect building, site and equipment for needed repair/maintenance. Establish Facilities user relations and maintain regular contact. Monitor feedback obtained by all users via the work order system, emails, routine visits, etc. Learn about job related maintenance protocols and take training and course work to enhance knowledge of Facilities Maintenance Management Administrative (20%) Liaise with contractors or external suppliers and clearly communicate ASPCA safety, technical and contractual issues and standards. Prepare weekly/monthly maintenance and repair reports and other reports as needed. Coordinate work activities among departments, including set-ups and break-downs for meetings and special events. Conduct orientation training and in-service training to explain policies, work procedures, and to demonstrate use and maintenance of equipment. Track certificate of Insurance for vendors and contractors Maintain product specifications and SDS sheets, update as necessary Management (10%) Interact with ASPCA program managers to effectively communicate all Repairs & Maintenance concerns to Senior Manager in a timely fashion Investigate complaints regarding housekeeping service and equipment and take corrective actions. Manage cleaning schedule, set custodians assignments including regular cleaning and special cleaning/projects as well. Support and participate in management initiatives Exemplifies the ASPCA’s Core Values: Has Commitment and dedication to improving the lives of animals Demonstrates Ownership and feels responsible for outcomes Believes in Team – that we are stronger together Seeks to Elevate others and reimagine what is possible Focuses on Impact, specifically making change for animals Training/Licensing Requirements: Driver’s License OSHA 10-hour training certificate (Will need to obtain within 90-120 days) Able to obtain any licensing requirements Qualifications: Ability and desire to learn, Ability to read building plans required., Able to communicate, both written and verbally with staff at all levels and members of the public, Able to work well as a team member with a neat appearance and a respectful attitude, Highly organized with emphasis on time management, Knowledge of Building Management, Facilities and Construction management preferred, Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs, Must be detail oriented, Take initiative and be proactive Language: English (Required) Education and Work Experience: High School Diploma (Required) 2 years facilities/property management/office management experience, 5 years experience with commercial heating, ventilation and air conditioning operation, maintenance and repair preferred, Experience using a work order ticketing system and maintenance management system strongly preferred Our EEO Policy: The ASPCA is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer.
