OSI Plastics, a division of Ohio Steel Industries, is seeking facilities maintenance technicians with a focus of industrial plastic extrusion and electric systems (480V).

Location:

• 2575 Ferris Road Columbus, OH 43224
• 100 Colomet Drive Delaware, OH 43015

Shifts Available: 6:00AM – 6:00PM or 6:00PM to 6:00AM

Job Type: Full-time (36-40 per week)

Responsibilities:

• Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of industrial plastic extrusion machinery.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in plastic extrusion equipment, especially those related to 480V systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance tasks to enhance the reliability and efficiency of machinery.
• Oversee general facilities maintenance, including HVAC systems, plumbing, and electrical systems operating at 480V.
• Collaborate with production teams to minimize downtime and optimize machinery performance.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders and equipment logs.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician, with a focus on industrial plastic extrusion machinery and 480V electrical systems.
• Strong understanding of plastic extrusion processes and equipment.
• Technical proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, especially at 480V.
• Familiarity with facilities maintenance, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects (up to and over 50lbs).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Vocational training or certification in maintenance or a related field.
• Previous experience in facilities maintenance within an industrial setting, with a focus on 480V systems.
• Knowledge of safety protocols related to plastic extrusion processes and electrical systems.

Work Environment:

• Plastics pipe and profile extrusion manufacturing facility
• Plastics production facility with exposure to elements, noise and possibly dust
• Required to lift and bend regularly.
