This Job:This Job: Systems Engineer
You'll Report to: Director of Infrastructure and IT Operations
The Systems Engineer is responsible for designing and setting up an organization's networked computing infrastructure, ensuring that systems run smoothly and efficiently, and resolving any technical issues that may arise. He or she will also be responsible for the effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of all hardware and software systems including all related infrastructure with a focus on networking components. This individual participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure, but that hardware, operating systems, software systems and related procedures also adhere to organizational guidelines. The Systems Engineer will have a particular focus on the network and will hold primary responsibility for WAN/LAN processes and procedures, preventative network maintenance, and the overall stability and accessibility of the network. The Systems Engineer will also be responsible for the configuration, management and continued operation of the VMWare environment.
What Youll Do:Education: Bachelors Degree in Computer Science/MIS or equivalent years of experience in similar position. Cisco certification preferred.
Experience: Seven (7) to Ten (10) Years of technology and/or IT experience. Property and casualty industry experience preferred.
Skills and Knowledge:
Work Schedule: This position will report to our Tampa office Monday-Friday. #LI-Onsite
Working Conditions: Normal business office environment. Must be able to remain in a stationary position for periods of time while constantly operating a computer and or other office productivity machinery such as a telephone. The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery or communicate with coworkers. Ability to lift 10-50 lb. required.
Travel: Minimum, as required.
