American Fence is Hiring a Project Manager Assistant (Construction) Near Wichita, KS

We are seeking a highly motivated Project Manager Assistant for our commercial fence installation by that helps to manage permanent fence sales and projects. This position will help with the sales of fencing to new commercial construction projects and continue to maintain relationships with existing customers. We offer competitive pay from $24.00 - $26.00/hour with car allowance, company provided phone, and a full benefits package.

Job Duties Include:

  • May contact regular and prospective customers to demonstrate products, explain product features, and solicit orders.
  • Answer customers' questions about products, prices, availability, product uses, and credit terms.
  • Learn to analyze blueprints, specs, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
  • Visit site and record information about access, drainage and topography, and availability of services such as water and electricity.
  • Become exposed to project estimates and is shown how the estimate is processed for purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work.
  • Learn material takeoff, estimating and quoting pricing procedures, contract terms, warranties, delivery dates as well as changes to work scope and new project estimating.
  • Support project manager after sales or contract signings to resolve problems and to provide ongoing support.
  • Visit job sites and performs work inspections, checks job progress, and report project issues by communicating to the project manager, branch manager, or subcontractor in a timely manner.
  • Provide customers with product samples and catalogs.
  • Help to prepare drawings, estimates, and bids that meet specific customer needs.
  • Obtain credit information about prospective customers.
  • Perform administrative duties, such as, drafting memos, preparing sales budgets and reports, keeping sales records, assisting with billing and collections, and filing expense account reports as required and submits to Project Manager for review.
  • Assist with preparing sales contracts and order forms.
  • Assist with preparing cost and expenditure statements and other necessary documentation at regular intervals for the duration of the project.
  • Forward orders to manufacturers.
  • Organizes and directs construction personnel including developing assignments, timetables and responsibilities for team members and ensures that materials and equipment resources are delivered on time for the duration of the project.
  • Work in the field with production crews to gain an understanding of life on the jobsite and to learn more about permanent fence installation.
  • Will help with pulling customer orders, loading customer and/or crews as needed.
  • Drive to job sites and conduct minor gate operation adjustments, minor fence fixes, or to deliver additional/missing parts, reporting larger issues back to the project manager or the subcontractor.
Education:
  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Required
  • Bachelor's Degree (four year college or technical school): Preferred
Field of Study: Business or Construction
Experience:
  • 2 plus years of experience in sales
  • 1 plus years of experience in construction
Computer Skills:
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Comfortable with using smart phone.
  • Experience in J.D. Edwards or other accounting system preferred.
  • Prior experience using CAD, blueprint software required.

Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen . Valid driver's license issued in the employing state and good driving record.
