Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Estimating Manager to join our team. The Estimating Manager will be responsible for overseeing the estimating process for construction projects, ensuring accurate and competitive bids. This role requires strong knowledge of construction estimating, cost control, and project management.
Duties:
- Lead and manage a team of estimators to ensure timely and accurate completion of bids
- Review project plans, specifications, and other documents to determine project requirements
- Utilize HeavyBid software to prepare detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, and equipment
- Collaborate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain pricing information
- Analyze project costs and develop strategies to optimize profitability
- Prepare bid proposals, including scope of work, pricing breakdowns, and schedules
- Negotiate contracts with clients and subcontractors
- Provide guidance and support to project managers during the construction phase
- Conduct post-project analysis to identify areas for improvement
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field (preferred)
- Proven experience in construction estimating and project management
- Proficiency in HeavyBid software or similar estimating software
- Strong knowledge of cost control principles and techniques
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
