JOB PURPOSE: Acts as a front-line ambassador for the department and conference center, representing a high standard of excellence with a professional, friendly, and positive attitude, putting guest requests first.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Promptly greet guests and assist guests with small children, elderly, handicapped and other guests needing assistance through the serving lines or with beverages,
• Clean dining room tables in a speedy, courteous, and effective manner.
• Maintain an orderly dining room by straightening highchairs, sweep or vacuum carpet and tile, wash entry doors/glass and related maintenance items.
• Support the dish room by putting away dishes, glassware, silverware, pots and pans, utensils, etc.
• Wash, dry, fold and put away kitchen/dining room rags and aprons.
• Anticipate and tend to guest needs.
• Adhere to all sanitation guidelines.
• Communicate with staff.
• Communicate incidents, needs, or issues to immediate supervisor.
• Other duties as may be assigned.

KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

In addition to collaborating with other staff, the Busser will work closely with the Dining Services Assistant Director and the Dining and Catering Services Director as well as other department directors, volunteers, guests, and work groups.

WORK SCHEDULE

Part-time, 29.5 hours per week or full-time, 40 hours per week including weekends, evening, and holidays.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• General kitchen and dining room environment with mostly indoor work but some outdoor work
• A fast-paced, high-volume environment
• Stand, walk, remain on feet, and perform job duties for entire shift duration and lift up to 30 pounds.
