American Association of Nurse Anesthetists is Hiring a CEO of AANA Foundation Near Rosemont, IL

SUMMARY

The AANA Foundation Chief Executive Officer (AANAF CEO) is responsible for approving and final execution of fundraising efforts and programmatic activities under the auspices of the AANA Foundation Board of Trustees. Primary responsibilities involve leading, supporting, and guiding programs and fundraising campaigns to meet the needs of the AANA Foundation. Is responsible for oversight of staff. Conduct and guide essential research regarding CRNAs. The CEO acts as a representative and spokesperson for the AANA Foundation to the public and external organizations. The CEO staffs and provides support to the Foundation Board of Trustees, related Foundation committees, and staff as appropriate.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

FUNCTION

Serve as the Executive Secretary to the Foundation and is responsible for recording and maintaining the minutes of the official meetings of the Foundation Board of Trustees seeing that all notices are duly given in accordance with the provisions of these Bylaws, or as required by law and serving as custodian of the Foundation records.

Work with the Foundation Board and staff to develop asset investment management and financial administration strategies and systems that are effective and aligned with the foundation’s vision/mission and ensure that such strategies and systems are implemented.

Holds ultimate responsibility for fiscal integrity of the AANA Foundation, as directed by the Board.

Work with the Board and staff to develop programming, grantmaking and grant management strategies and systems that are effective and aligned with the Foundation’s vision/mission and ensure that such strategies and systems are implemented well.

Oversee the implementation and impact of research grants and scholarships.

Conduct research and serve as a consultant to research requested by the Foundation.

Disseminate research in the form of abstracts, manuscripts, and presentations.

Serve as a leader to guide the development of research programs for CRNAs through the Foundation.

Coordinate research priorities/agenda through collaborative processes (AANAF BOT & AANA BOD).

Fundraise on behalf of the AANA Foundation which requires meeting with prospects, donors and industry.

Work with the Board and staff to establish accountability regarding the Foundation’s fundraising effectiveness and impact.

Oversee the effectiveness of the marketing and communication plans to increase awareness of the AANA Foundation’s mission.

Work collaboratively with other private and/or public funders and grantees to have a greater impact.

Help shape the agenda and decision-making of government and other external stakeholders.

Contribute to the vision and thought leadership in the Foundation’s mission.

Represent the AANA Foundation to the public and to the charitable not-for-profit community.

Leads, supports, and actively fundraises for programs that meet the mission of the AANA Foundation.

Sign documents on behalf of the Foundation, from time to time, as required.

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

  • Must be a CRNA.
  • Must possess a research doctorate (PhD, DNSc, EdD).
  • Minimum of five years of previous professional experience in CRNA research, education, and leadership.
  • Have a history in conducting and disseminating research on national platforms.
  • Demonstrate ability to communicate and present to audiences.
  • Hold a track record of published and presented research.
  • Have an understanding and an appreciation of clinical practice.
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of the Foundation’s mission/vision and areas of programmatic interest.
  • Experience developing high level strategies in response to emerging issues facing CRNAs and charitable non-profits.
  • Demonstrated experience of progressive leadership responsibility.
  • Demonstrated ability to function as a leader and an effective member of a team, to delegate effectively and to make independent, high-level leadership decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with members, volunteers, industry, Foundation representatives and other individual donors and prospects.
  • Experience in managing and influencing individuals with diverse opinions, interests, and political clout to create optimal solutions.
  • Skilled in leading a team that demonstrates cultural competency and strong work ethic.
  • Excellent organization, program development and research skills.
  • Highly motivated with a strong sense of strategic and future direction to include both research program development and necessary research initiatives.
  • Experience in fundraising.
  • Evidence of understanding creative design in the areas of campaigns, special events and marketing.
  • Previous experience in not-for-profit leadership preferred.
