DESCRIPTION

At AWS, Security is priority zero. As part of the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Security team, we are looking for a technically deep Technical Program Manager who is passionate about owning far-reaching projects to drive continuous improvement across AWS at unparalleled scale. As a part of AWS Security you’ll get to operate in a constantly changing environment and get to work with AWS business and engineering teams on business-critical security projects and programs. We work across AWS to drive strategic security initiatives, design and deliver tooling and automation, and continue to raise the bar on security at AWS. Our team drives programs to enable customers to integrate control implementation and assurance from across all of Amazon.
Key job responsibilities
* Perform security assessments of AWS services: become an expert in service architectures, threat models, implemented controls, and gaps in controls.
* Identify process improvement opportunities and high risk areas.
* Work with service owners to develop innovative solutions to complex technical challenges.
* Manage the build and deployment of new tooling to streamline and automate security-related initiatives.
* Support process improvement and security-related projects in coordination with service teams.
* Manage communications to service teams and stakeholders.
* Develop a deep understanding of the operational services, processes, and controls in place that support AWS's security posture.
A day in the life

* Owning and driving large-scale programs
* Conversing with our service teams about architecture, security, and compliance
* Force multiplying the assessment of our services and features against a control framework
* Bar raising our deliverables and mentoring more junior staff
* Driving and assisting with projects to improve our team and our business

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 3 years of technical product or program management experience
- 3 years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
- 2 years of working directly with engineering teams experience
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience building and evaluating system-level technical design
- Knowledge of assessing against industry standard frameworks (ISO, NIST, HIPAA, SOC, etc.)
- Meets/exceeds Amazon’s leadership principles requirements for this role
- Meets/exceeds Amazon’s functional/technical depth and complexity for this role

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $101,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $197,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
