Amazon's Automated Profitability Management (APM) team is looking for a customer obsessed and results oriented Senior Product Manager - Technical to shape the way we automate sourcing and profitability discussions with our vendors ensuring we deliver the best in class pricing, selection, and delivery for our customers on Amazon.com. The individual in this role will focus on creating and executing a roadmap of features that help Amazon and vendors function smoothly across financial, supply chain, and marketing transactions (such as buying goods or changing supplier contracts). This is a high-impact role that invents new experiences for our customers, has regular senior leadership visibility, and has the ability to deliver significant business results.
We are seeking a self-starter who has experience defining and delivering product features. Successful candidates will be big thinkers who have track records of working effectively with business, science, and engineering teams to bring those ideas to life. The Senior Product Manager - Technical will work closely with many stakeholders across Amazon including Vendor Management, Finance, Marketing, Science, BI, and Engineering. The role requires a high degree of customer obsession, ownership, strong analytical knowledge, attention to detail, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and an ability to drive consensus across multiple stakeholders.
Primary responsibilities of this role include:
- Working backwards from the customer, you define the problem(s) we are trying to solve, desired customer experience, vision, product strategy, prioritized features, and success metrics
- Building the business requirements for products, collaborating with science and engineering teams, as well as making decisions that ensure timely delivery to those requirements
- Understanding the systems and technologies behind your product, their limitations, scaling factors, boundary conditions, and reasons for architectural decisions
- Developing product plans and metrics that have clear, measurable success criteria that helps to define follow-on features

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 5 years of product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
- Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
- Experience with end to end product delivery
- Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product
- Experience managing technical products or online services
- Experience in representing and advocating for a variety of critical customers and stakeholders during executive-level prioritization and planning

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience in using analytical tools, such as Tableau, Qlikview, QuickSight
- Experience in building and driving adoption of new tools

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $121,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $235,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
