The Amazon Fulfillment Technology (AFT) organization is responsible for scaleable and innovative solutions to enable fulfillment of millions of items every day across the globe. Our team owns the charter to make the AFT WMS more accessible and flexible for emerging markets and businesses. We are starting several key initiatives and are looking for a senior engineering leader who can own the scoping, planning, and execution for these business critical programs. The ideal candidate will have a combination of strong business sense and broad technical knowledge and experience, someone who enjoys understanding and influencing different businesses, related systems, the impact and effort for adding new features to these systems. Key job responsibilities
This role demands both visionary thinking and seamless collaboration with partners across engineering teams, operations and the business realms.
The right candidate will possess a strong technical program management background, will have demonstrated experience leading medium to large projects and will have a well-rounded technical background in current technologies. This means you are not only able to develop and drive high-level strategic initiatives, but can also dive deep and get the job done. You will think critically, anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management and make trade-offs. You would have demonstrated this with your prior experience working with teams in deep data-driven domains and feel excited about how to build upon that for our customers and sellers at Amazon scale.
The key responsibilities are:
1. Invent, design, and implement engineering frameworks to drive efficiency throughout the global Amazon supply chain.
2. Coordinate design and innovation efforts across teams to develop optimal solutions. Tackle complex challenges and break them down into actionable steps, delivering results efficiently.
3. Simultaneously manage multiple projects and tasks while effectively influencing internal and external business partners.
4. Provide technical leadership for large-scale software, architectural, operational projects.
5. Develop and lead high-level strategic initiatives that will shape the future.

Amazon Fulfillment Technologies (AFT) powers Amazon’s global fulfillment network. We invent and deliver software, hardware, and data science solutions that orchestrate processes, robots, machines, and people. We harmonize the physical and virtual world so Amazon customers can get what they want, when they want it.
Inbound
AFT’s Inbound team delivers innovative solutions to automatically receive and process billions of units of inventory from Amazon’s vendors and third-party sellers worldwide, making the merchandise quickly available to Amazon customers.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 7 years of working directly with engineering teams experience
- 5 years of technical product or program management experience
- 3 years of software development experience
- 5 years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 5 years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
- Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
- Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $119,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
